I been running my mouth fingers for 100 posts!!! Cool!

Today was a good day. This afternoon I finally figured out a workable configuration for my sewing area!

I spend a lot of Internet time searching and gawking at sewing rooms and reading the organization challenge posts (Over & over... and OVER) from The Domestics Diva. At first I was majorly jealous & discouraged at all the great spaces, but that eventually faded and I became inspired.

The only extras I purchased are small storage containers, the ironing storage rack (on the wall in the corner), the wood tone cabinet under the table and the armoire. Everything else has been repurposed (an old desk, lumber, dining table, closet storage, etc) from the house. I even threw away a bunch of storage junk to re-use the tubs for my patterns & fabric.

It's hard for me to stay organized & focused in a cluttered space and I previously spent a lot of time trying to find things - which takes away from my motivation. Now everything has an easy-to-reach place, things can be put away when company comes.

WOW!!!! It looks AWESOME! My daughter would go nuts if she saw all the zebra print (we are currently redoing her bedroom in zebra and hot pink...LOL).

I saw your corkboards on the inside doors of your cabinet and wanted to suggest you might think about buying some cheap corkboard sheeting (it comes on a small roll) and adhering it to the entire inside of the door with spray adhesive. it would give you a full door of cork for added inspiration (and it's much flatter than the corkboard you are using.

I also noticed your ModgePodge (decopauge)...if you want to add more zebra to your room, you could use either zebra fabric or printed paper and decopauge all your pattern boxes and other cardboard boxes.

Thanks for the mention! Keep up the great work. I know it's a struggle for all of us having so much stuff in our sewing room...it's a daily battle to keep it organized, KWIM?

Happy Sewing!

With friendship,
Lisa
