SWAP is about to be SCRAP

I spent a little time this weekend (late nights) doing all of my pattern cutting, and cutting the fabric for my tops. I got pretty sick of that and put it all down for a couple of days.

Today though, I needed some stitch therapy so I came home for lunch to get started on Simplicity 3790 (View D). It was turning out to be a joy to sew, my nerves were calm, I was finishing the side seams after setting the sleeve in flat, thinking how cute this was turning out, planning to wear it this weekend w/ my new dark denims from Old Navy when...

(as usual click the pics for a larger view)
So what's the problem you say?

Still don't see it? Well you are looking at what is SUPPOSED TO BE the BACK of the top.
huh???

Yes, my ARSE serged the back side seams together from the sleeve on down, instead of attaching them to the front side seams.

I'm going back to work now. I'm too depressed.

These things do happen, especially when time is short. Don't you just love sewing elves, the naughty ones!?!

It will be okay...we have all done "interesting" things like that...now pick yourself up...dust yourself off and start all over again! Oh and but that one in the trash. You just don't need that hanging over your head! :)

Girl, you too hard on yourself. We all make mistakes. I make a lot of them. Hell just rip it and start over.

Yes, I've done things like that. Don't let it bother you. Just forget it and move to the next thing.

I sew the wrong side back to the right side front and serged it to death in three places. Moral of my story, don't sew and talk on the telephone at the same time!

Sorry about your shirt. I know I've zipped along with my serger only to realize I've totally screwed something up.

You know what you can do, you take take out the seam and reserge the very edge (just don't trim any fabric) or just use a regular maching with an overcasting stitch.

BTW, I'm swapping too. It will be fun to see how your wardrobe developes!
