Focus Change...

Hubby & I have decided to move out of state, so I've officially started job hunting! Hopefully I will find something quick because I am so ready to get out of this place.

I have a feeling that this is going to affect my sewing - as in no more fun stuff for a long while, just mainly work-type stuff. The good thing is that moving will give me another chance to purge a lot of my fabric cabinet and patterns. Hopefully I will be more willing to part with what I don't need.

I'm in the process of listing my next few projects, which have to be simple and quick enough to make before I have to go on interviews. Hopefully I can stay focused.

That sounds exciting. Will you be leaving lots of family behind? That would be the only hard part for me - otherwise I would look forward to the adventure. I am sure your job hunt will be successful. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I have a soror in the Dallas area working for Southwest who is originally from Randallstown. Let me know if you'd like to get in touch with her.

Good luck! I've been trying to convince my kids and husband that we need a change for about a year and a half now.

Why purge? Just get a bigger place with your ooowwwnnn sewing studio. Yes, I know it is easier said than done. Are you sure Dallas/Texas is where you should be headed?...LOL...
Good luck with your plans, hope it all exceeds your expectations. I kind of envy people who can just 'up and move'. We are planted for generations!

THANKS FOR THE WELL WISHES!!!!! (yep I'm screamin - lol!!)

This should be a good move for us the majority of my family is in either Tex or Cali (my dreamland), but Tex is WAY more affordable. Plus my mom is coming along.

It is time for a change and to slow down a bit. I am a country girl at heart.

We will come back to Baltimore to visit his family often.

Congrats to you and the family... Can I tell you I visited the Dallas/irving/fort worth area for 6 days last June. Loved it! The food was awesome... Best steaks and tex mex on the planet! Weather was interesting (I affectionately call it Hades with a Breeze)lol. Get your maps the driving is an adventure... Never saw so many highways in my life... Folks were friendly... Texas is a small independent country in the US... Everything is BIG there... gotta love it... You'll do the Big Star well! Good luck!

Hi there! I don't have a blog, but I enjoy reading yours (along with many others). I have lived in the Dallas area for over 20 years. If you need to know all the good fabric spots, let me know. We have a huge fabric warehouse here that you can just get lost in!! I'd be more than happy to show you around. I've been sewing for more than 30 years and wouldn't mind giving assistance if you get into a jam with some technique! Anyway if you do come to Dallas - WELCOME!! Jo Ann (sewpurple@aol.com)
