What I've been up to...

In sewing news...

This weekend I worked on Vogue 8280 for little sis's upcoming b-day. I'm doing view F without the wings. It's easier than I thought it would be, but the instructions are a nightmare to navigate. Hopefully I can get a pic of her in it once it's done.

In crochet news...

I walked out the house today to go get Superbowl snacks and a package was on my porch! I thought I was gonna have to wait until Monday since I missed it earlier. What was inside? Beautifulness!!!

Yay!! I ::heart:: Tracey & my mail carrier until she messes up again

...and now for...
***MY OBSESSION***

A seamstress on PR made a dressform from a fitting shell pattern. Then a few days later I see these on Desire to Inspire. How beautiful right?

I want one bad. I'll use solid muslin for the first draft then find some awesome home dec for the final draft. I'm gonna use McCall's 2718 the fitting pattern I've had stashed for the last few years, and sew in some bra cups for boob shaping.

Honestly I don't care if I don't get it to match my measurements exactly because it will just look super pretty in my sewing area. I mainly use Betsey for draping anyway. I hope I see more people make these.

I gotta get some pics of my other skirt from last weekend. I'll try to do that tomorrow.

The dress is going to be so pretty!
That was a nice package Tracey sent you--surprises in the mail are the best, aren't they?
And I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who named my mannequin. (Her name is "Sunny.")

I'm also teaching myself how to crochet again. I want to really knit but my neck hurts when I do. I never really learned how to do either, but my grandmother was quit good at both. She taught me and my sister the basics. How I miss her crochet afgan. For christmas I could always expect one of her knitted sweaters. I started a croched scarf 2 weeks ago. I started a hat, but can't seem to get past row 6. I now have DVD's and hope this helps me.
Good luck with your crocheting.

What a brilliant idea to use a sloper pattern!! Will you cover your dressform with it or stuff it? I will wait with baited breath to see the results!
