Fabric excitement

in Tejas...

SewPurple commented about a fabric warehouse in Dallas and it woke me out of my Monster.com haze.... I Googled and found some fun stuff to explore...

  1. GoldenD'or
  2. A nice list from DawnPages
  3. Make classes/crafts
  4. eBest Fabric fun home dec prints
  5. Richard Brooks looks $$$ but beautiful!!!
  6. Some indie joints like: Fabricadabra, Fabrics-n-More, Dallas Button Supply, Wherehouse Fabric Outlet, and many more. I really hope these are current listings.
  7. Then they have Joann's, Hancock's and Hobby Lobby!

This is so much more than I have locally available in Baltimore. Ah yeah baby, pattern & fabric addiction will be in ful-l-l-l-l effect.

the Gorgeous stuff...
I finally took the plunge and got Gorgeous. I ordered a few tester yards and now I am SOLD. I have to be conservative right now, but as soon as the dust settles I will become a regular customer because her knit selection and customer service is to die for!

I got 2 yards each of:
This gorgeous lt.weight jersey will be for BWOF 2-2008-123

This gorgeous sweater knit will either be a cardigan, wrap top or dolman sleeved top.
Not sure just yet.

I am working on some work pants, hope to have them done this weekend.

Laters...

I have the brown/gold sweater fabric...it is TDF! It is lightweight and there is a touch of gold running through it...it has been talking loudly to me and might make it into garment form this weekend! You will love it when you get it!

Yes Golden D'or and
Best Fabrics are 2 of the places I was referring to! There are others around them, and there's also a Kay's Fabrics. Expensive but interesting. and we have a two-story Jo Ann's!

Well, welcome to Texas in advance. You will want to check out Fabrique in Richardson/North Dallas. Its expensive, but they have fabulous fabrics, including organic cotton and hemp and bamboo for those who prefer all natural fabrics. They also carry indies and imports like Folkwear and Marfy.

Oh Thank you Thank you Thank you! It is Christmas in March. I have been searching for information on Golden d'or fabrics since I first began purchasing bolts of the remnant fabrics from Walmarts $1 a yard table in 2002. No one at my local walmarts knew how to contact the company and back then there was no website that I could find. I pretty much had given up and moved on. I'm so excited to get the heads up because there are times that you can really come across a treasure from their company as they provide remnants from larger bolts---so there are times I've even lucked up on designer quality fabric that would be quite expensive at the fabric store(opps letting out my secrets) which because I am obsessed with fabric I can discern that's what I've found...on a clearance table...at Wally world!
